SUPPORTED BY GROUPE IDEC, FLUDIS CONTINUES ITS DEVELOPMENT

The first FLUDIS warehouse-boat came into operation in September 2019, and since then has been sailing on a daily basis on the Seine in Paris for its customers LYRECO and PAPREC. This 100% electric and emission-free boat sails up and down the Seine serving different ports in the heart of the French capital. The goods that it transports are then loaded on CYCLOFRET cargo-bikes and delivered to the end customers. This new means of delivery supports a sustainable, decarbonised approach in line with the regulations governing urban mobility. This boat’s activity makes it possible, in particular, to cut the distances covered until then by conventional delivery vehicles by 300,000 km a year.

FLUDIS continues to grow, promoting a sustainable and decarbonised approach and is launching new projects. This urban logistics player is going to open a 1,200 sq.m agency in Paris which will be operational this summer. It will be located at 36 quai d’Austerlitz and will be accessible by 19-tonne lorries. It will serve as a sorting base for preparing delivery rounds exclusively operated by CYCLOFRET cargo-bikes, making it the largest cargo-bike delivery base in Paris. A CYCLOFRET cargo-bike parcel delivery agency is also planned in Saint-Denis for 2022. It will have a processing capacity of 4,000 to 5,000 parcels a day, which will make it possible to avoid the equivalent of 350,000 km covered a year by conventional delivery transport. FLUDIS is also going to launch a home delivery service for the Bricorama stores in the 5th, 13th and 14th arrondissements of Paris.
